Hey guys! How's it going? I've been just swell. I graduated college a week ago, (ZOMG I'M FREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!) and I have just been fantastic. I've got a couple leads on jobs, as well as scored myself a paid internship in October for 2D animation and character design. (YAY!) I've been spending some time away from my comp, as well as internet life. I apologize if some of you may feel neglected by me. It's nothing personal, and I still loves ya all, I swears!~ I know I promised a con report from Califur 09 with video and pictures, and that is still happening. I will put that up next week sometime. Anime Expo is this weekend, so I have been running errands and prepping for it for the past week. I will be there in the Artist Alley at table C03 with some talented artist friends of mine if anyone would like to stop by. I will be selling prints as well as taking commissions there too. If you're going, I'd love to see ya there! Be sure to say hi.~ :D Yep. I'm not dead folks, just busy. I promise to catch up with everyone after this weekend. It looks like a whole new chapter is beginning to open up for me in my life. More to come later. Until then, take care!~ Hugs, -Mochi Current Mood: busy

So, for the past 7 and a half months I have had a part time retail job in a local art store that I have been shopping at since I was a wee little Mochi. Last Thursday I put in my two weeks notice that I was leaving the job due to needing more free time for school, since I am graduating in June. Everyone was sad to see me go, but understanding and proud of me at the same time, including my boss. This past Saturday there was a posting that there was to be a mandatory meeting an hour before the store opens on Tuesday, the 21st. (Today) So I get to work this morning on time in my mind that I'm ready to clock in and work, but as soon as I get there, I realize that I was actually late because I had forgot all about the meeting. F*ck. I walk outside the back area to the sales floor to try to catch the last of it, and my boss turns to me and tells me to wait in his office. A moment later he came in, asked where I was, and I apologized and told him that I completely forgot, and felt terrible. (honestly I did) He then snapped at me about how he knows that I am leaving and I should act like I care more about my job, he's pissed, and that I should go home and not come back. Ever. I lost my job, and also a favorite store to shop at. *sigh* The funny thing is, there have NEVER been mandatory staff meetings before until today. I can see his point where he got upset, but I think A. he over reacted, and B. it was unfair of him to accuse me of "not caring about the job" when he knows I'm one of the most responsible and reliable employees he's had. Oh well, you can't win them all. So here's the gain! I got a part time job at a paint ball field on the weekends as a ref. My first day was this past Sunday, and I love it! Also, today Mike told me he's also moving up to a better position in his company! I'm so happy for him, as well as very proud of him. I now leave you guys on a happy note with this image that made me laugh pretty hard. It's an image off loldogs. Current Mood: crappy

(cross posted from my FA) Hello fellow furs!~ I am posting this journal to get your feedback, so please do so if you have any, for it will benefit me greatly and I appreciate it a lot! ;) So, a close friend of mine draws anime, and she got herself a table at Anime Expo this year. She invited me to sit with her as one of her artists that could share her table. If all goes well, ( still working out the details) I will be there with her selling prints and/or sketches, and taking commissions. The website for the con can be found here; http://www.anime-expo.org/Now my question for you furs is how many of you would go to Anime Expo, and/or are you going? I know this it's not a fur con, but I do know that a lot of furs are anime fans and vice versa. If possible I would like a general idea of what percentage of the audience would be furs interested in my work at an anime con. This will give me a good idea of what to sell and how much of it, and if I should go there as an artist. Any feedback is appreciated, and thank you in advance!~ Maybe I will get to see some of you there! :D -Mochi Current Mood: curious

Forgive me if I ramble senselessly, I am running on an average of 5 hours of sleep a night, with Rockstar energy drinks in my bloodstream. So far, this year has been nothing but exhausting and stressful for me. I work 3 days a week in an art store for 8 hours each day, and then go to school for 3 days a week for 8+ hours each day, so with work and school combined, my weeks are 48+ hours long. That's not including time for homework, house work, Mike, and Koro, our awesome dog. My only day off a week is Sunday, and I generally spend it doing homework or house work. Sometimes both. I have been trying to lurk the online communities when I can, but it's for small increments of time each time. I am actually typing this entry while on a small break from my morning class. I am anxious and scared at the same time to finish school. I graduate next quarter (within the next 6 months) and this current economy has me scared to death about finding a stable job in my field. I know that all this is temporary, and will pass in time like all things, but it's a matter of how much time. My life has definitely gone through some pretty big changes within the past few months, such as a new house, dog, school, work, and my production team. I would like to elaborate on them another entry, when I am more awake to talk about them. -sighs and yawns- Busy Mochi is a tired and beat Mochi. Here's a picture of Koro, our 2 year old Pit Bull. He's the biggest sweetie ever. Photo taken by Mike. I hope you all are well in your lives. -Mochi Current Mood: exhausted
